101 Year Old Portrait

101 years ago, my paternal grandparents, Máximo and Luisa Córdova married on this day, May 29th, 1921. It was Sunday as today. They had eight children. Only four of them got to adulthood (2 boys and 2 girls). My dad, Luis Córdova was one of them. There is a tradition passing the name Luis/Luisa in my paternal family. My maiden's name is Luisa Córdova. I also passed the name to my son. My dad was the fifth child and the last boy. My aunts were born after him. There is only one of this marriage’s children living. He is the first- born. His name is Carlos Enrique. He turned 100 years old two weeks ago. My dad passed away in 2020. He was 93 years old. I’m so grateful for this portrait that proof they lived because they exist in photos. A birth certificate proofs you were born, a death certificate proofs you died, but a portrait proof you lived. This is a legacy that have survived more than 100 years. It is film, it is a printed portrait not a digital file.

In this digital era, print your portraits. Believe me, there is not any more exciting thing that printing them and display them with proud at your home. Printed portraits are incredibly important, I -a portrait photographer- can capture a certain moment in time, and it will be preserved for generations to come. They will be able to see and enjoy this memory again and again. Do you exist in portraits?... ❤️🎞📷📽
